WELCOME TO THE SEASON.

Almost every weekend in the Victorian & SA winter, regional towns come alive with racegoers who want to experience what grassroots racing is all about.

The purpose of the Regional Jumps Racing trail is to guide you back through the idyllic country towns which are steeped in history and culture.

It is also the entry point for the race goer to enjoy the sport of horse racing through the eyes of our people. Country People.

This trail has been curated by all those who are a part of the bush telegraph and will evolve as time goes by. It is our responsibility to share the tips of the locals. Those who are farmers, horse owners, small business owners and regional residents who have loved going to the races like their grandfather’s before them.

It is our purpose as part of our contribution to the sport of horse racing to attract tourism to the towns in which we have raced for over 150 years.

The Regional Jumps Racing Trail is proudly brought to you by Country Racing Victoria & Australian Jumps Racing Association

Our Industry

80% of our trainers live & support regional areas. Our horse trainers count for more than a qtr of industry participants within Victorian & South Australian and help provide hundreds of jobs in regional areas.

Our Clubs

It all begins with our clubs. From the famous Warrnambool May Racing Carnival to the oldest steeplechase in Australia at Coleraine. Jumps racing is a key contributing stakeholder to country & metropolitan racing.

Equine Welfare

Life after jumps racing is a vital part of educating racegoers about the responsibilities we have to our horses. Jumps horses are the most sought after once retired and enjoy a life after racing as performance, companions or equine therapy horses.

Teaching them to jump and introducing them to a new discipline does them the world of good, and I think this then stands them in good stead when they’re rehomed. They’ve already got the experience of being retrained within racing, and so it makes them easier to retrain when they leave the industry and adopt a new career.
